Imam Jafar Sadiq (AS) dua – Sabarash Shakireen

In his book of al-Misbah Shaykh al-Tusi writes down that on the authority of al-Muall¡ ibn Khunays that Imam Jafar al-Sadiq (a.s) said, “In Rajab, you may say the following”:

اللّهُمَّ إنّي أَسْأَلُكَ صَبْرَ الشَّاكِرِينَ لَكَ،
O Allah! I ask You for forbearance of the grateful
وَعَمَلَ الْخَائِفِينَ مِنْكَ،
and (practice of) actions of the fearful of You
وَيَقِينَ الْعَابِدِينَ لَكَ.
& conviction of the devotees to Your worship
اللّهُمَّ أَنْتَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ،
O Allah: You are verily the Most High, the All-great,
وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ الْبَائِسُ الْفَقِيرُ،
I am Your bondman unlucky and indigent
أَنْتَ الْغَنِيُّ الْحَمِيدُ،
You are self-sufficient and praise-worthy.
وَأَنَا الْعَبْدُ الذَّلِيلُ.
while I am Your worthless bondman
اللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ وَامْنُنْ بِغِنَاكَ عَلَى فَقْرِي،
O Allah: bless Muhammad and his Household & cover my neediness through Your self-sufficiency
وَبِحِلْمِكَ عَلَى جَهْلِي،
and my ignorance through Your forbearance,
وَبِقُوَّتِكَ عَلَى ضَعْفِي،
and my weakness through Your power.
يَا قَوِيُّ يَا عَزِيزُ.
O All-powerful, O Almighty.
اللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ الأوْصِيَاءِ الْمَرْضِيِّينَ،
O Allah: bless Muhammad and his Household—the Successors (of prophet hood) and the Pleased
وَاكْفِنِي مَا أَهَمَّنِي مِنْ أَمْرِ الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ
and save me from whatever aggrieves me among the worldly and those of the hereafter
يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ.
O the most Merciful of all those who show mercy.
